With hourly updates on the COVID-19 situation, having resources you can rely on is paramount. We want to make sure that you have resources for not only your consumers, but your staff and your business to ensure you make informed decisions. With that in mind, we have compiled both news articles and resources for you to reference. Here are a few of the most recent articles:
- Emergency Medicaid Waiver – passed in Florida. Pennsylvania, New York and Washington State with more states to follow. The section 1135 waivers allow HHS to set aside admin requirements to increase medical services during a national emergency.
- How Nursing Facilities may be affected – here are some interesting points that you may want to consider
- How Facetime and Zoom are allowing people to see their loved ones in nursing facilities – with the restriction on visitors, this has been a fun and unique way they have felt connected. There’s a ton of these articles, but this one from NPR is extra special.

- Medicaid Disaster Response Tool Kit will provide states with information to how to apply for waivers
- CDC Tools for Health Care Professionals and Health Care Facilities have a ton of tools on how to respond to the fluid situation for your team and your facility
- Pennsylvania created an online guide for businesses, families, schools, and individuals.
- New Jersey posts updates here. Including the new businesses mandated to close to reduce group gatherings
- New York has a space online that you can send questions. They also have specific links for adult care/assisted living here, home care, and nursing homes. The website also has helpful tools for workers within each area.
During the past couple of weeks, we have felt the sand shift beneath our feet. This feeling of uncertainty has left many feeling anxious and uncertain. We do want to put on rose-colored glasses, however, there has also been an incredible number of positives that have come from the situation currently, and that is where we have decided to focus our attention.
