THE VBP Blog
February 1, 2023 – As we launch into a new year for the VBP Blog, we can’t help but be encouraged by the number of states embracing value based programs. In 2022, we covered a ton of incredible topics including new programs in California and Ohio, Home Health, Social Determinants of Health, and of course the basics of value-based payments! With our goal to bring relevant news with a sprinkle of our advocate’s perspective, we hope you both enjoy and benefit from what our blog offers.3
In this March 2022 blog we covered the importance of SDOH metrics interacting with technology and care planning. We touched on multiple states, including PA and Texas, that are currently implementing technology tools to smooth processes and improve quality of care.
Value-Based Payments are constantly growing and evolving, in this blog from January 2022 we discuss the basics of what value-based models are and what updates happened in the past year. Hint, there will be another one of these for 2023!
In September, we covered the new ACO REACH which gives individuals with complex needs better access to care. This detailed blog explains how the new model benefits both providers and the IDD community.
In 2023, you will see a ton of great new content including guest blogs from thought leaders across the country, updates on IDD managed care, new developments in Home Health and Home Care, and of course top news articles from across the nation! The end of Health Emergency will be impact millions of consumers and providers, states are increasingly requiring the inclusion of provider led networks in their managed care programs, and the end of the incremental funds from CARES and ARPA funds will be challenging providers to stay in business. Last but not least, the workforce issues continue to be paramount. Any one of these factors alone would have a huge impact on services and the way value will be defined. Always at risk will be the recipients of the services, the most vulnerable consumers! In this environment, we will always stay focused on how CMS, states and payers respond!
